So the neverending conversation about Black women not being able to find a good man is back with yet another reality show. This is extremely sickening. Chili from TLC is taking notes from an already existing lonely Black celebrity woman searching for a man show. Is she serious? This is Chili from TLC!!! When I was a kid, there would be fights to the finish over who was gonna grow up and marry Chili. In my hood, if you even mentioned Chili being all yours, you were prepared to go home with a bruised nose. And now she can’t find a damn man? Ridiculous.
Now I know what you’re going to say. “Well, Flava Flav and Ray-J were on television looking for love.” That is true, yet something about the shows are different. Flav and Ray-J had a house full of women clawing at each other to get a piece of that chocolate. They spent seasons choosing from the pack of wolves. Chili and Pepa from classic female rap group Salt-N-Pepa come off as extremely desperate. Their sole existence lies upon needing a man in their life. With that said, they spend the entire season knit-picking and dismissing like they had never asked for love in the first place. Black Women!!! This conversation needs to hop off of a cliff into a burning pit. You can’t find a man because you are walking around with a checklist longer than insurance qualifications. Either go out and be open to ideas, relocate, or sit your ass down and have a coke and a smile. Here’s a clip from Chili’s new show. Tell me that you don’t want to whip out the baby powder and start turning cheeks.
